About

Jennifer LawlorHello! I’m Jennifer Lawlor. My passion is working with communities to understand, share information, and move to action on complex problems.

I am currently the Director of Data Science and Insights at Visible Network Labs. I hold an MA and PhD in ecological-community psychology from Michigan State University and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at University of Michigan’s School of Information.

My research interests center around understanding how people collaborate and share information to manage complex problems in community settings, with a particular focus on coalitions. I also study how tools from complexity science and systems thinking can improve understanding of social issues. I am invested in conducting community-engaged research and have collaborated with partners working on improving postsecondary attainment, early childhood service systems, and local and regional food systems. When I’m not doing research, I enjoy hiking, playing the fiddle, and baking.
